The plan…

The first point of this crazy idea was to collect the bottles. We’ve managed that, but as December looms it does get awfully tempting to swap some bottles for others…

When is this all planned? 7th - 15th December, it’s really not far away!

What else do we have in store for for our trip to Islay?

  • Bottle repatriation - some of our stash are Islay malts. We want to take the bottles “home” and open them at their distillery of origin

  • A tasting - we run tastings together but this is an opportunity for us to hold a tasting and give something back. We want to give the proceeds of the tasting to a local Islay charity. It’s good to be good yeah?

  • Enjoy the drams - we have some ear marked for events and excursions but we want the opportunity to drink these with our friends over the space of the week. (And we’re getting old, we should probably space them out…!)

  • Visit distilleries - well we are on Islay after all!

  • Eat the Legendary Ballygrant cheesecake - it’s our second favourite thing on Islay after the whisky.

  • When we’re full of cheesecake (if that’s possible) there will probably be a resurrection of the Scandi Whisky bakery so that means cinnamon buns, fresh out of the oven. Fika will be necessary with all the whisky!

  • Rumour has it that a small consignment of Canadian Ice Wine is floating across the Atlantic to Islay, so probably a soiree with cheese and wine is on the cards.
